True Vibenation combine an irresistible blend of soul, afrobeat and hip hop backed by big bass, big beats and live horns.
The spirit of community and conscious music lies at the heart of True Vibenation’s manifesto and it has earned them a reputation across the world for an electric and infectious live show, which includes all three artists singing, producing beats and playing horns live on stage.
From humble beginnings in western Sydney, True Vibenation’s music has taken them to some of the worlds finest festivals including: Glastonbury Festival (UK), HIFA (Zimbabwe), Bushfire Festival (Swaziland), Azgo Festival (Mozambique), Womadelaide (Aus) and they were handpicked to support acts Ozomatli, and Thievery Corporation on their Australian tours.
Drawing from their African heritage and raised in the cultural migrant melting pot of western Sydney their sound takes influence in equal parts from Fela Kuti and Curtis Mayfield as it does from Outkast, Fat Freddy’s Drop and Rudimental.
It has been a whirlwind 18 months for True Vibenation, who have literally taken their sound across the world playing festivals and shows across Australia, Europe, UK and Asia earning an international fan base and worldwide audience.
The single ‘Squat’ with Haiku Hands was picked up by TV show ‘Good Girls’ and previous single ‘The World Is Ours’, hit #1 on Spotify’s viral chart for the UK, #15 in the US and #4 globally, collectively amassing over 1 million streams. and was supported by international blogs Afropunk, Indieshuffle and Acid Stag. With new music on the way and more touring worldwide in 2020 True Vibenation are quickly gaining a reputation as international party starters and ambassadors for Afro-Australian music.
