ZEKE BEATS

Bringing bass to life with his analog synth wizardry, ZEKE BEATS is on a mission to melt faces.

One of the game’s best new names, ZEKE BEATS blends hip-hop and grime influences with his signature analogue basslines for a distinct sound that’s dirty, crunchy and always futuristic. It’s the sort of bass that keeps dancefloors burning and sweat dripping down walls, so it’s no surprise that it’s turning heads: electronic A-listers like Bassnectar, DJ Craze, DJ Shadow, Tokimonsta, Mr Carmack, The Glitch Mob, Mat Zo and Toddla T have all already thrown him support.

The light-speed rise of ZEKE BEATS has happened in less than two years. Since breaking through in 2016 with his Meltdown EP on Terrorhythm Records – a release Bassnectar loved so much he includes an edit of its title track in pretty much all of his sets – Zeke now looks poised for world domination.

He’s signed to Australian booking agency Poster Child and American powerhouse agency Madison House, got airplay on triple j, Rinse FM and BBC Radio, stepped up to mix for Alison Wonderland’s ‘Radio Wonderland’ show on SiriusXM, been named one of Australia’s best breakthrough artists by inthemix, and had routine videos featured on DJ Mag, Your EDM and Run The Trap.

Zeke’s enjoyed a dream run of heavy-hitting releases. This year he dropped the Devastate EP on Borgore’s label Buygore, snagging a premiere for the release on Skrillex’s Nest HQ imprint along the way. It’s the follow-up to two huge 2017 releases: his Dispatch EP, which hit #1 on the iTunes electronic charts and scored adds to coveted Spotify curated playlists, and the big single ‘Yuck’ on Zeds Dead’s label Deadbeats. In between, he’s also been tapped for official remixes for What So Not, Foreign Beggars and Krane & Quix, the latter of which was released on powerhouse label Dim Mak.

Amidst all that has been some nonstop touring: Zeke’s ticked off no less than four US tours in the last eighteen months, hitting Electric Forest, Bassrush’s Project Z and playing Shambhala two years running, whilst playing key support shows for artists such as Rezz and Zeds Dead.

He’s also ticked off some huge back-to-back sets with US bass star Eprom: they teamed up for a big B2B at Zeds Dead and Jauz’s label night in Miami, while their surprise set at Electric Forest was rated the best of the entire festival by Noiseporn. Locally, he was tapped as the lead support for Nero’s tour and played a sold-out Australian headline tour in support of Dispatch that saw him play to audiences up to 5000 at the country’s top clubs and festivals.

He’s not done yet. This year Zeke will tour Australia with Quix before heading to North America to play his debut sets at major festivals Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas and Lightning In A Bottle, hit clubs around the country, and play the official afterparty of Bassnectar’s festival Basscentre – a set he was handpicked for by the man himself.

And Zeke’s not just your regular DJ: his love for hardware comes from his background as a turntablist superstar, a rare talent that’s seen him rank 4th in the world in the prestigious IDA World Championships and earn the title of Australian DMC Champion, as well as being named Grandmaster Turntablist DJ Qbert’s first ever Scratch University Valedictorian.
