Contemporary soul man Klue is equal parts producer, DJ, singer and multi-instrumentalist. Klue’s musical identity is a unique blend of garage, soul and Afro-beat, which has brought him notable industry and media support in a short time.
2017 has been a big year for Klue so far, with his most recent single ‘Lifted’ debuting at #1 on the Australian iTunes World and his remix of Pnau’s Double Platinum single ‘Chameleon’ which was recently released worldwide on Island Records, alongside remixes from Blonde and Mele.
Expectations are high, with inthemix including Klue in their ‘10 Artists about to take over Aussie Dance Music’, an inclusion in FasterLouder’s ‘8 Aussie Songs You Need To Hear’, while electronic behemoths Hermitude and Double J’s Lance Ferguson touted Klue as one of the ‘Top Australian Artists To Watch’. Sydney’s FBi Radio also locked Klue in as an ‘Independent Artist of the Week’.
Strong in his vision, Klue’s sound encompasses a lot of his own skills as musician. Playing saxophone, percussion and drum programming, Klue’s sound is influenced by a mix of UK garage and Afro-beat musicians, while his vocal style comes from a childhood of classic soul tunes. Having recently toured Australia with Kilter, played Glastonbury Festival and toured Europe and Africa with his band True Vibenation, and played major sets at Field Day, Rainbow Serpent and Subsonic Music Festival, Klue has developed an acute awareness of how to turn out a sure fire party vibe.
Klue’s emersion in the world music scene has been significant. Having toured through Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Swaziland and South Africa, he also hosts a weekly radio show on FBi 94.5 ‘Bare Necessities’, an outlet for world music, rare groove and electronica.
His most recent release, ‘Lifted’, is a perfect summertime accompaniment of uplifting beats and tropical feels, following on in the tradition of the ‘Daybreak’ EP which has accumulated nearly a million plays on Spotify.
