As one of the most long serving, respected and influential DJ’s in Australia with 28yrs experience under the (not so serious) moniker – Groove Terminator, Simon started out playing punk, hiphop and electro on his high school public radio show in the early 80’s as a teenager then fell instantly in love with the early acid and house sounds coming out of Chicago coinciding with the arrival of 1988’s Summer Of Love.1989 and 1990 saw Simon placing quite high in the DMC DJ competitions and although he never quite made it to the UK World Finals it was an enlightening and very educating time for him, his path was laid out.
In the early 90’s after teaching himself the ways of midi and sampling he independently released 2 techno ep’s on vinyl only called Terminator Trax, which were flogged by the many DJ’s worldwide including some of his heroes Carl Cox and Jeff Mills.

Signed to Virgin/EMI in 1997, He was the first DJ in Australia to sign to a major label under his own name. Releasing 2 full length artist albums which included the hit singles “Here Comes Another One and Hair The Musical sampling “One More Time (The Sunshine Song) during his tenure there picking up several ARIA nominations including Best Male Artist along the way and even a European VMA nomination for his cover of Pils’ seminal “Not a Love Song” along the way. Other awards include Best Producer at the inaugural Australian Dance Music Awards even a GQ “Man Of The Year” nod snuck in there and has several times been nominated for Best National DJ. Other notable aliases include Chili Hifly (Ministry Of Sound/Kontour/Central Station) with the first single “Is It Love?” scoring a U.S Billboard #1 in 2001 And Loverush (Azuli, Credence.)

In 2006 Simon collaborated with Sam Littlemore (Gwen Stefani, Black Eyed Peas, Robbie Williams, Empire of The Sun) on a side project called ”Tonite Only” which fused a contemporary dance floor aesthetic with a post-modern pop sensibility called “Tonite Only” who managed the amazing feat in 2006 of scoring 2 ARIA Club Chart Number 1’s both of which remained there for over 3 months. Followed by several other noteworthy releases and remixes for the likes of Sneaky Sound System, TV Rock, The Similou and Hook and Sling including their own genre defining chart smashing singles “The Bomb” & “Where The Partys At” (Ministry Of Sound)

In 2007 Simon joined with LA based singer Chris Carter to create the indie dance outfit JUMPJUMP DANCE DANCE. Signed to ETCETC (Pnau. Mylo, The Knife, Annie, Two Door Cinema Club) they released an album and several singles which were all mixed by Dave Sardy (Wolfmother, Jet, LCD Sound System, Primal Scream, Rolling Stones, SOULWAX etc etc) and Mark Needham (The Killers,3OH3,Bloc Party) and Sameer Sengupta (Poxy Music, Proximo) and mastered by Steve Fallone (TV On The Radio) @Sterling Sound following on from a slew of hot remixes for artists like Datarock, Los Valentinos, MSTRKRFT and La Roux. They described the sound as somewhere between The Clash, Duran Duran and The Killers all meeting on the dance floor. The first single “Show Me The Night” garnered 2 TOP10 Hype Machine spots and across the board radio play in Australia whilst also gathering notable mentions in such UK tomes “The Independent” and “the Guardian”.
2012 saw Simon teamed up with Sam Littlemore once more to release more music under their Tonite Only moniker which delivered a massive comeback single in the shape of We Run The Nite (#1 ARIA club chart for 12 weeks) and followed up by a score of more chart toppers followed by 2 years of high profile club and festival appearances with their highly acclaimed & much imitated high energy and prop filled live shows, firmly placing them at the top of the burgeoning new wave of the Australian electronic music scene. During this time Simon also found time to co found the publishing arm of Ministry Of Sound Australia -120 music publishing, which has just celebrated their first writer ARIA nominations. 2014 and 2015 finds Simon releasing more music under various monikers (GT is back!) including some new remixes of some back catalogue, finding more great talent for the growing 120 publishing roster and working on his two startups

Simon enjoys an ongoing touring and recording relationship with Ministry Of Sound/Poster Child and describes his current DJ sound as “Just good house music!”
